Aiglon Review

Sweep down the curving stone stairs to the terrazzo mosaic lobby of this truly lovely 1880 garden villa for a drink or a meal by the pool, or tarry a while in the grand salon, a picture-perfect confection of 19th-century elegance that wouldn't shame some of the nobler houses in Paris. There's a room for every whim, all soft-edged, comfortable, and romantic. The poolside restaurant, Le Riaumont, serves candlelight dinners of fresh, local fish lightly steamed and sauced with a Provençal accent; breakfast is served in a shady garden shelter. It's a three-minute walk from the beach. Half-board prices are available.
