With a glowing Provençal-ocher facade, bright blue shutters, and balustraded sea terrace, this lovely 1878 villa fulfills most desires for that perfect, picturesque Cap Ferrat hotel. Though it overlooks one of the cape's many exclusive mansions, complete with vast garden and much-vaunted chien très méchant (very nasty dog), this little mansion remains unpretentious and accessible, with pretty little pastel guest rooms that feel like bedrooms in a private home—many offer window views of the gorgeous peninsula stunningly framed by statuesque palms. The terraces are shared, the aperitif is a social occasion, and the comforts are first-class. There is also a private three-bedroom villa for rent with access to a swimming pool, perfect for up to six people.
