Le Cavendish Boutique Hotel Review

Lovingly restored by friendly owners Christine and Guy Welter, the giddily opulent former residence of Lord Cavendish is a true delight, playing up both contemporary décor and 19th-century elegance. Guest rooms are done in bright swaths of color ("wintergarden" greens, "incensed" reds). Beauty, conviviality, even smells—sheets are scented with lavender water, and fresh flowers line the entryway—all work together in harmony. The downstairs bar is cozy for a nightcap, and the copious buffet breakfast (included in the rate), is excellent.
