Ermitage Review

Surrounded by mimosas and lemon trees, this big, old-fashioned, tangerine-hue hotel is on a hill above town and from its back rooms commands striking sea views. Once a 19th-century private villa, it still has some of its former glory: the beautiful walled garden is a lovely summer retreat and the wood-burning fireplace and cozy "colonial"-rattan bar make for solid elegance. The guest rooms are simply decorated, light-bathed in soft pastels. Owner Annie Bolloreis's friendly welcome makes this a real charmer.
