In a beautiful period-house setting with a terrace facing the town hall right in the center of the village, reputed chef Jean-Paul Battaglia heads up a battalion of young chefs in an open-plan kitchen. Why so many? Because everything is homemade, from the foie gras to the hand-smoked salmon to mouthwatering basics like roasted scampi with lemon and basil. The best seats are on the enclosed terrace by the quietly tinkling fountain looking out into the mayor's flower garden, but the cozy rooms inside are atmospheric too. The EUR 38 set menu is the best bet in town. Try to save room for dessert—the lavender-infused crème brûlée is truly outstanding.
