Fodor's Expert Review Le Bistrot à la Truffe
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
“Emperor of the Truffle" Bruno Clément opened his truffle palace in a typical Provençal house, just down the street from the church in St-Tropez. Only he could revolutionize a simple oven-baked dish with cream of Tuber brumale (winter truffle), grated Tuber melanosporum (black truffle), and a dash of olive oil to create a meal of startling decadence. You can order à la carte or indulge in a full-on truffle feast by choosing set seasonal or traditional menus (€69, €89, and €149). The wine menu is as fabulous as the truffles, with bottles starting at €40. If you're looking for the perfect picnic companion, Bruno can whip up a basket of truffles for four to five people for €295.
