Pontet Review

A few blocks from the Dordogne River and within the shadow of cliff-top Château de Beynac, this is one of the hotel mainstays of the adorably Dordognesque town of Beynac, with sweet and simple guest rooms upstairs plus a highly regarded riverside restaurant just a short hike away. At the latter—Hostellerie Maleville ($$–$$$)—you'll want to forego a table in the modern, wood-beam dining room for a blissful perch on the riverbank itself. Here umbrellas and willow trees shade diners happily tucking into such fare as goose neck stuffed with truffles and Beynacoises potatoes.
