Hôtel des Recollets Review
One of Sarlat's time-burnished hotels, this find is in the southern section of the town's Cité Médiévale, next to the 17th-century Chapelle des Recollets (inside, however—other than an impressive cloister—decor runs to French Moderne). Today, the hotel—blessed with a golden-stone facade—is centered around the convent's ancient cloister, which makes an exquisite setting for breakfast. Guest rooms are extremely simple, befitting the rates, which also include such pluses as air-conditioning, minibars, and the nice location.
