Ithurria Review

A registered historic monument, this 17th-century Basque-style building was once a staging post on the fabled medieval pilgrims' route to Santiago de Compostela and today makes a fitting resting spot if you're doing a modern version of the pilgrims' journey or just need a delicious stopover on your way deeper into the mountains. Surrounded by a lovely garden, the Ithurria will give you a fine atmospheric night thanks to its wood beams and antique accents. The rustic dining room (no lunch Thursday, except in July and August, closed Wednesday) combines inland game and fresh seafood from the Basque Coast in creative ways. Guest rooms are modern and comfortable.
