Avignon: The Gare Avignon TGV station is a few miles southwest of the city in the district of Courtine (a shuttle bus connects with the train station in town); other trains (and a few TGV) use the Gare Avignon Centre station located at 42 boulevard St-Roch, where you can find trains to Orange (15 mins, €5.70), Arles (18 mins, €6.90), L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Nîmes, Marseille, and Aix-en-Provence.

Marseille has train routes to Aix-en-Provence (40 mins, 12 to 40 trains daily; €7.20), Avignon (1 hr 10 mins, almost hourly; €19.20), Nîmes (1½ hrs, €20), Arles (1 hr, €14.10), and Orange (1½ hrs, €22.70). Once in Marseille, you can link up with the coastal train route, which links all the resort towns lining the coast eastward to Monaco and Menton, along with trains to Cassis, Bandol, and Toulon.
Nîmes: There are eight TGV trains daily on the four-hour trip from Paris; frequent trains connect with Avignon Centre (30 mins, €8.90) and Arles (25 mins, €7.90), along with Montpellier and Marseille; to reach the Vieille Ville from the station, walk north on Avenue Fauchères.
