Getting Here and Around in Nîmes
Getting Here and Around
On the Paris-Avignon-Montpellier train line, Nîmes has a direct rail link to and from Paris (about a three-hour ride). The Nîmes gare routière (bus station) is just behind the train station. Edgard runs several buses to and from Arles (11 daily Monday–Saturday, two Sunday). STD Gard has several buses (daily except Sunday) between Avignon and Nîmes and Uzès and Nîmes. Some Uzès buses stop at Remoulins for the Pont du Gard and a few continue on to St-Quentin-la-Poterie. Note that although all the sites in Nîmes are walkable, the useful Tango bus runs a good loop from the station and passes by many of the principal sites along the way for €1.10.
