Getting Here and Around

If you're arriving by plane, note that Arles is roughly 20 km (12 miles) from the Nîmes-Arles-Camargue airport. The easiest way from the landing strip to Arles is by taxi (about €35). Buses run between Nîmes and Arles 11 times daily on weekdays and four times on Saturday (not at all on Sunday). Four buses run weekdays between Arles and Stes-Maries-de-la-Mer, through Cartreize. The SNCF runs three buses Monday–Saturday from Avignon to Arles. Arles is along the main coastal train route, and you can take the TGV (Trains à Grands Vitesses) to Avignon from Paris and jump on the local connection to Arles. You can also reach Arles directly by train from Marseille.
