A historic Le Panier hole-in-the-wall, this small pizzeria is filled with politicos and young professionals who enjoy the personality of chef Stéphane Cassero, who was once famous for announcing the price of the meal only after he'd had the chance to look you over. Remarkably little has changed over the years, except now there is a posted menu (with prices). Brace yourself for an epic meal, starting with a large anchovy pizza from the wood-burning oven, then fried squid, eggplant gratin, and a slab of rare grilled beef, all served with a background of laughter, rich patois, and abuse from the chef.
