$, St-Remy-de-Provence
Fodor's Review:
With all the luxurious mas and châteaux to choose from, you don't have to be scared away if you're on a budget: This charming Logis-de-France property, in a 17th-century stone building that surrounds a green courtyard, offers more-conventional lodgings right in the heart of town. Its strong point is its restaurant, where modestly priced, mainstream French cooking is served in the courtyard in summer and in a firelit, dark-timber hall in winter. Room decor isn't up to St-Rémy style (blue carpeting, polyester quilts), but the best rooms overlook the court and are clean and comfortable.
