Domaine de Valmouriane Review

In this genteel mas-cum-resort, peacefully isolated within a broad park, overstuffed English-country furniture mixes cozily with cool Provençal stone and timber. The grounds are impressive, with picture-perfect cypress trees; inside, much has been restored, so all is comfort and ease, if not the height of authenticity. The restaurant offers up fresh game, herbs from the garden, seafood, local oils, and truffles, but it's the personal welcome from Philippe and Martin Capel that makes you feel like an honored guest. The pool, surrounded by a slate walk and delightful gardens, is most inviting.

The Domaine de Valmouriane is a delightful retreat only minutes from the lovely village of St-Remy-de-Provence. We spent 3 blissful nights in this country home and took a cooking class with Chef Pascal, which proved to be utterly delicious. Only the freshest ingredients were used, producing gastronomic fare. The staff was very helpful and personable. Would highly recommend this property, if you are looking to relax after visiting the nearby villages.
