A textbook example of a Provençal mas, this rambling 19th-century farmhouse—replete with stonework walls and wrought-iron canopy beds—has an impressive amount of style. But the gardens are so attractive that you may want to spend most of your time outside, surrounded by thyme bushes, pots of lemon and orange trees, fountains, pools, and centuries-old olive trees; if the season permits you can enjoy a memorable dinner on the outside terrace. A second residence
houses eight guest rooms that maintain the contemporary-meets-modern high-style theme.

Our e-mail requesting hotel information and room availability received a prompt response. We made our reservation and requested that a car pick us up from the Avignon TGV station and all arrangements worked out perfectly. The hotel is located about a 15 minute walk from the center of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Our room (named La Jasse) was on the second floor and featured a private terrace with views over the rear of the property. The road passing the
hotel was just below our window but we were not disturbed by passing traffic. The hotel breakfast was delicious with a wide coice of items. Dinner in the garden one evening was lovely and featured wonderful food. Windows in our room and the door to the patio did not have screens but the room heating and cooling unit worked well and directions were easy to understand. Our hotel-arranged taxi to deliver us back to the TGV station was on time. All-in-all, a wonderful stay. Be advised: A prominent sign on the adjacent piece of real estate advertised lots for sale so the quiet peace of this location may be changing if development plans advance.
