Jean-Luc Rabanel is the culinary success story of the region, famous for fresh garden-inspired cuisine that he features in this stylish restaurant and cooking school—one of the few organic eateries in France to merit two Michelin stars. A super-chic Japanese-style reception area, which includes the five elements—water, fire, earth, air, and spirit—ensures that "guests will come into harmony with their cuisine." Menus are prix-fixe only; the seven-dish tapas-style lunch (€65) is a treat not to be missed, and the "Emotion" dinner menu (€125) is unforgettable. Those keeping to a budget should try A Côté (04–90–47–61–13,, a few doors down, where you can more affordably experience the genius of this super-chef by sampling a tasty upscale set menu (€29) and regional wines.
