Hued in the lavenders, blues, ochers, and oranges of Aix, rooms here swim in the most gorgeous Souleiado and Rubelli fabrics: this all conjures up the swank Provence that used to be colonized by Parisian barons and dukes in the 19th century, far from the usual Provençal farmhouse idyll. Little wonder the former archbishop's palace has become the darling of shelter magazines everywhere. This hilltop garden retreat stands serenely apart from the city center on the outskirts
of town (offering great views over the pink roofs of Aix), and that means the shops of Cours Mirabeau are a 15-minute walk away.

I stayed twice @ Villa Gallici. In 96 and on my honeymoon in 08. A fantasy enjoyed. The rooms were upscale, the staff friendly and helpful. They arrainged for a car service to travel the area using our desires. I especially enjoyed the fragrance of lavender permeating the air and a glass of Pastis poolside in the afternoon. Walking distance to town.
