A designer's dream of a hotel, this petit palais permits you to step into 18th-century Avignon—enjoy painted coffered ceilings, sumptuous antiques, extraordinary handmade wall coverings, and other superb grand siècle touches (those rough sisal mats on the floors were the height of chic back in the Baroque era). The central lounge is a skylighted and jazz-warmed haven. Upstairs, guest rooms are both gorgeous and comfy, with extraordinary baths. The costume-drama dining room is the perfect setting for the restaurant's sophisticated cuisine, one of the best in Avignon under chef François Secretin.

This is a truly lovely hotel. Right slap bang in the centre. The staff were wonderful. The decoration beautiful, with real style and elegance. Not sure the food in the restaurant was quite up to the surroundings, but lovely to sit in the garden here or in the old restaurant. The rooms have everything you could wish for and just perfect. One of the best hotels I have stayed in in france.
