Cabaret, Montmartre
Fodor's Review:
Moulin Rouge offered a circuslike atmosphere when it opened in 1889, and lured Parisians of all social stripes. Think elephants, donkey rides for the ladies, and the incomparable cancan revue. Today, the cancan remains a popular highlight of what is now more a Vegas-y show, starring 100 dancers, acrobats, ventriloquists, and contortionists, and more than a 1,000 costumes. Dinner shows start at 7, with standard shows commencing at 9 and 11 (arrive 30 minutes early; men should wear a jacket and tie).
