Hôtel Bonaparte Review
The congenial staff makes a stay in this intimate hotel a special treat. Old-fashioned upholsteries and 19th-century furnishings make the relatively spacious rooms feel comfortable and unpretentious. Services may be basic, but the location in the heart of St-Germain is fabulous. Light sleepers should request rooms overlooking the courtyard.

We confirmed a room with air conditioning for late April. When we arrived the temp was in the 80's and there was no A/C. We were given rooms on the second floor with large floor to ceiling windows... We have 3 year old twins and could not stay there because it was extremely dangerous not to mention loud. When we asked for other rooms and if there was A/C, they said no and too bad. They will not refund our money because we did not cancel within the 72 hours...we would have if we knew they would not honor what was on their confirmation.

Stayed there several months ago after reading glowing reviews at Fodors and elsewhere, found it very disappointing. The good points are the location, rooms are a decent size for Paris, and bathrooms relatively modern. Bad points: shabby furnishings, carpet, and looking none too clean, even if they were; non-working refrigerator in the room; room was dark and drab with low-level yellowish light bulbs; repairs not attended to; owner/manager minimally friendly or helpful. They have a sign in the lobby to not expect them to be able to get a taxi for you. I've stayed in other budget-minded hotels that are cheerier, cleaner in appearance,equally-good location, and with more helpful staff.
