This hotel near the Louvre, Les Halles, and Palais-Royal is a find, with modern, spotless rooms that are well equipped for the price. Furniture is of the Ikea genre, and the baths are simple white tile, but bonuses include a bright sitting area and a stone-cellar breakfast room, both with murals. Pros: clean and comfortable with elevator; in the center of Paris. Cons: rooms and elevator are small; not much character.

My husband and I stayed here in June 2007 based on recommendation from this website. It was perfect! The room was small, but hey, it's Europe. The manager is very friendly and helpful, and didn't laugh at us even though "Merci" was the extent of our French language knowledge. The hotel is only blocks from the Louvre and a Metro station; couldn't be more convenient. We didn't eat breakfast there, but there is an amazing pastry shop just around the corner that you should find if you stay here! Overall, the rooms were clean, the location was terrific, and the staff was helpful and accomodating. We would stay again.
