Comédie Française

Fodor's Review:

Mannered productions of Molière, Racine, and Corneille appear regularly on the bill here, but only in French. Founded in 1680 by Louis XIV, the theater finally opened its doors to the public in 1799. It nearly burned to the ground a hundred years later; what you're looking at dates from 1900. The comedienne Sarah Bernhardt began her career here.
