The hipster team behind this designer boutique hotel just off the trendy Rue des Martyrs already count among their fiefdoms some of the hottest hotels, bars, and nightclubs in Paris. But despite the cool factor and the funky rooms individually decorated by Parisian avant-garde artists, the prices remain democratically bohemian. Of course, there are few amenities, but there is a 24-hour retro brasserie and garden terrace in the back where locals come to hang out in warmer weather. The hotel is not designed for children; vintage nudie magazines decorate, and the sex shops of Pigalle are blocks away. Pros: hip clientele and locals at the brasserie; close to Montmartre; garden dining in summer. Cons: few amenities; a few blocks from the nearest métro; close to red-light district.
