$-$$, Bistro, Montmartre
Fodor's Review:
Bistro
Velly. This is just the bistro you hope to find in a quiet residential street, just around the corner from the charming, food-shop-lined rue des Martyrs. With its timeworn setting -- including a lovely Art Deco bar -- Velly chef-owner Alain Brigant delivers with updated bistro fare such as bacon-wrapped shrimp with ratatouille or veal hangar steak with salsify fritters. The chalkboard selection changes constantly with a three-course prix-fixe for EUR 31. Seating is elbow-to-elbow and the atmosphere is convivial, aided by the well-priced wines.
