Spoon, Food & Wine

$$$-$$$$, Modern French, Champs-Élysées

Fodor's Review:

Modern French

Spoon, Food & Wine. Decorator Jean-François Auboiron has revamped Alain Ducasse's original fusion bistro with a silver screen lit with sculptures and a long central table where strangers share a unique dining experience. The mix-and-match menu hasn't changed significantly since the restaurant first opened, but you can now order a three-course lunch served in 40 minutes for EUR 38 or try the featured Travel Spoon dish at dinner, which comes from one of the Spoon branches around the world. Fashion folk love this place for its many vegetable and pasta dishes and its irresistible desserts, particularly the TobleSpoon, a takeoff on Toblerone. If you've sampled the Spoon concept elsewhere in the world, don't expect the same here; each branch is tailored to a particular city's tastes, and what looks exotic in Paris (bagels and bubble-gum ice cream) might seem humdrum in New York.
