Hôtel du Nord

Fodor's Review:

Behind the rustic façade of this budget hotel that's just around the corner from Place de la République is a charming little lobby with clay-tile floors, exposed stone walls, and wooden beams. There are few perks, but the hotel does have bikes available free to guests, perfect for a ride down to the nearby Marais district or a cruise along the tree-lined Canal St-Martin. Pros: bike rental; close to East Paris nightlife districts. Cons: few amenities; busy Place de la République is quite noisy.
