Wood floors and rich fabrics in chocolate and plum tones accent this family-run boutique hotel in the chic district between the Tour Eiffel and Les Invalides. The small lobby opens to a dining room and bar overlooking a private patio, where breakfast is served in summer. Rooms are decorated with contemporary furnishings and oil-portrait headboards. The slightly larger sister hotel, Le Marquis, offers similar services and style a few blocks down the street.

We stayed 5 nights at the LeWalt and found it to be convenient, quiet, and upscale at a decent price (225 Euros, booked on their website). We had a very comfortable king bed. The bathroom was updated, clean, and had very good toiletries; the towel warmers were a nice plus. The staff was very accomodating and arranged a taxi for our trip to the airport the evening before our departure. The Ecole Militaire metro stop is just outside the door; you can reach anywhere in central Paris within 20 minutes. We'd be happy to stay at LeWalt again, and can recommend it without hesitation.
