Le Général Hôtel Review

Designer Jean-Philippe Nuel applied his sleek styling to Le Général, one of Paris's first low-budget/high-design hotels. Daring splashes of fuchsia decorate the walls in common areas, though rooms are more subdued in cream, chocolate, and chestnut. Clever decorative touches include clear-plastic desk chairs, ambient lighting, and silver rubber duckies in the bath. The fifth- and sixth-floor rooms facing the street have balconies with chimney-pot views to the west. One of the hotel's suites has a bathtub planted in the middle of the bedroom. Friendly service, a small fitness center, and full-service bar are nice touches, while close proximity to métro stations is another convenience appreciated by guests.
