The decor is a bit schizoid: some guest rooms have chandeliers, others have fuzzy brown rugs and busy bedspreads, and another is fashionably minimalist. Rooms Nos. 39, 40, and 41 are blessed with large rooftop balconies. The location near the Opéra Garnier and Grands Boulevards department stores and the free Internet station in the lobby make this a good bet in this price range. Pros: good value for central Paris; a block from the métro station. Cons: a noisy street and late-night bar across the road can make it hard to keep windows open in summer; some rooms are small and ugly.

We stayed at Hotel Vivienne for 2 nights in late October. We loved the location. Very close to metro. Short walk to Opera. Restaurants & bars close-by. Quick walk to Louvre.
Bed is not the most comfortable, but what do you expect for this price & location! Room & bathroom were clean. We had a balcony in our room & enjoyed sitting out there in the mornings!
