Park Hyatt Paris Vendôme Review

Understated luxury with a contemporary Zen vibe differentiates this Hyatt from its more classic neighbors between the Place Vendôme and Opéra Garnier. Five Haussmann-era office buildings have been converted into a showcase for polished beige limestone, mahogany veneer surfaces, and bronze sculptures. The minimalist cool vibe in the rooms extends to the Japanese-inspired spalike baths, under-floor heating, and spacious dressing area. Spa treatments feature French Carita products, and the entire hotel is Wi-Fi accessible.

Luxe Landmark
Recently named one of eight official palace hotels in France by the French government, the elegant Vendome fits right in with its neighboring Place Vendôme and the Opéra Garnier. Behind it's lovely 19th-century façade you'll find a world-class spa, Michelin starred restaurant, and 40 stunning Ed Tuttle-designed suites. Sensual but understated, rooms have a neutral palette of silk fabrics, lacquered mahogany and bronze sculptures, and are equipped with everything from underfloor heating in the limestone bathrooms to Blu-ray DVD players. In 2011, John Nollet (hair stylist to the stars) unpacked his bags and began offer Hair Room Service in Suite 101.

For 20 years I have regularly stayed at the Hotel Ritz in Paris - a wonderful place indeed - but now I am more into the Park Hyatt. Why? Because it feels younger and more modern. Beautiful large gold and mahagony decorated rooms, beautiful limestone baths and gorgeous wardrobes. Perfect service. Excellent choice: have one of the suites - very roomy indeed.

I have stayed here twice and loved it both times. The rooms are a great size and well laid out, bathrooms are excellent, service is wonderful and the food is great. Short walk to Tuileries & Louvre & Opera House (I actually would consider this hotel to be in the 1st, not the 2nd arrond). The concierge is great too - wrote down in French a request I had for our taxi driver.
