$-$$, Bistro, Bastille/Nation
Fodor's Review:
Bistro
Le Passage des Carmagnoles. Feeling carnivorous? Search out this friendly spot near place de la Bastille in an obscure passage. Though it bills itself as a wine bar, it has a full menu, including the celebrated andouillette sausage from the town of Vouvray. The initials AAAAA mean the sausage has the stamp of approval from the French andouillette aficionados' association. As the andouillette's pungent tripey aroma makes it an acquired taste, other, less fragrant dishes are available, such as rabbit with mustard, steak tartare flavored with mint, game in season, and even ostrich. The wine bar claim is far from unfounded, though; Le Passage has many unusual bottles.
