On a quiet street between Canal St-Martin and the historic Hôpital Saint-Louis, grab a sidewalk table at this laid-back bistro two minutes from the canal. On a cool day, the red banquettes and Ingo Maurer chandelier cast a cozy glow, all the better to enjoy a hearty selection of dishes, like slices of foie gras served atop crème de lentilles and sprinkled with garlicky croutons, or a rosy beef entrecôte with roasted baby Yukon Gold potatoes and mushrooms de Paris. In springtime, fat white asparagus is nicely paired with salty smoked haddock and spring peas.
