With a discreet entrance on the posh place Vendôme and a tiny jewel box of a lobby with inlaid marble and carved mahogany paneling, the Vendôme has all the comfort and luxury of neighboring palace hotels without the ostentatious size. Rooms are done handsomely in French period styles from Louis XIV to Art Deco, with marble baths, antique furniture, and hand-carved wood detailing. Technical touches include wireless Internet, flat-screen TVs, and a bedside console that controls the lights, curtains, music, and electronic do-not-disturb sign. The British-style restaurant and bar, decorated with leather chesterfields and wood paneling, hosts a live pianist Thursday through Saturday and presents contemporary French-fusion fare.

This is a lovely boutique hotel in a great location. We stayed there for five nights and our room although a little small was beautifully decorated. The staff is attentive but service is commensurate with a hotel of this small size. One word of caution: the technical touches are a bust. The wireless internet service did not work and the bedside console that controls the lights had to be fixed. Nevertheless, our bill was adjusted accordingly. I would stay here again.

A gem

This tiny gem is nestled at the entrance to the Place de Vendome. Worth it just for the bathrooms - marble everywhere! The room was roomy, amazing gadgets. We will return. Location is excellent - everywhere seemed to be within an hour's walking distance. What a great way to see Paris.
