Le Dôme du Marais

$$, Cafe, Le Marais

Fodor's Review:

Behind a discreet Marais doorway lies one of the most unusual dining rooms in Paris, under the glass dome of a former chapel that was once used as a municipal auction house. But chef Pierre Lecoutre doesn't let the stunning setting steal the show. Whether you opt for his EUR 17 lunch menu or the EUR 47 tasting menu, you can expect carefully considered dishes such as roast saddle of lamb with wild mushrooms and cocos de Paimpol (white beans), roast duck with green peppercorns and apple sauce, topped off by chartreuse soufflé or the lemon and raspberry "diamond" cake. The waiters strike the right balance between friendliness and formality. Meals are also served under the glass atrium at the entrance, but aim for the more impressive main dining room.
