Behind the rustic facade of this budget hotel around the corner from place de la République is a charming little lobby with clay-tile floors, exposed stone walls, and wooden beams. There are few perks, but the hotel does have bikes available free to guests, perfect for a ride down to the nearby Marais district or a cruise along the tree-lined Canal St-Martin.

Clean, friendly hotel, interestingly decorated, and the elevator works. A bit out of the way as I don't walk well, but should be fine for most; near the Metro.RATING: 5.0
