$-$$, Modern French, Bercy/Tolbiac
Fodor's Review:
Modern French
Chai 33. Thierry Begué, one of the names behind the trendsetting nightspots Buddha Bar and Barrio Latino, created something more personal with this forward-looking spot. Appropriately set in a neighborhood once dedicated to the wine trade, it's a restaurant, bar, and wine shop in one. It aims to make wine unintimidating -- instead of the regional listings, wines are classified by style, and you can go into the cellar to choose a bottle with the help of an expert sommelier. Go for the funky wine cocktails or the perfectly fine food, which is divided into four categories: "authentic," "trends," "voyage," and "seasons." In summer there is a pleasant, traffic-free terrace. Good-value prix-fixes range from EUR 15 to EUR 21.
