On one of Caen's oldest pedestrian streets near the castle, this typically Norman, half-timber 17th-century dining room—stone walls, beamed ceilings, and large fireplace—showcases the good-value regional cuisine of Cédric Mesnard. The three-course, EUR 25 menu is good value, and highlights include the grilled duck, cannelloni with goat cheese, king-prawn risotto and, to finish, red berries in flaky pastry with coconut milk.

Former restaurant of Michel Bruneau (1 Michelin star) named "La Bourride", take over by one of his crew. Nice and easy sort of gastro brasserie with good and simple products.
