The setting is picture-postcard perfect: smack opposite the fairytale wooden St Catherine's church, with alfresco dining a possibility—nay, must—in fine weather. Inside, it's just as nice: openwork brick walls and wood-beam ceilings. In the kitchen, Gérard Bonnefoy, one of Honfleur's top chefs, offers seasonal delights such as succulent scallops with hazelnut risotto, pumpkin soup with mussels, lobster omelette, and roast lamb from the salt marshes. Leave room for the cheese-course showcases warm camembert with peppered caramel and try to leave room for the fresh fruit with mango coulis and litchi or banana split with coconut and chocolate sauce.
