Airports

The region's international gateway airport is Aéroport-Lyon-Saint-Exupéry, 26 km (16 mi) east of Lyon, in Satolas. There are domestic airports at Grenoble, Valence, Annecy, Chambéry, and Aix-les-Bains.

To get between the Aéroport-Lyon-Saint-Exupéry and downtown Lyon take the Satobus, a shuttle bus that goes to the city center between 5 am and 9 pm and to the train station between 6 am and 11 pm; journey time is 35-45 minutes, and the fare is EUR 8.50. There's also a bus from Satolas to Grenoble; journey time is just over an hour, and the fare is EUR 20. A taxi into Lyon costs about EUR 30. Taking a taxi from the small Grenoble airport to downtown Grenoble is expensive, but it may be your only option.
