For a friendly host and an unusual sleep on the Saône river, Dominique Abafourd takes good care of her guests aboard her river barge. With an indoor pool, a cozy mid-river terrace, and gorgeous wood-paneled cabins, this is a cruise you will not forget. Pros: warm hostess; central address. Cons: damp in winter; cramped cruising-style spaces; limited acoustic privacy.
