Centre d'Histoire de la Résistance et de la Déportation (Museum of the History of the Resistance and the Deportation) Review

During World War II, especially after 1942, Lyon played an important role in the Resistance movement against the German occupation of France. Displays include equipment, such as radios and printing presses, photographs, and exhibits re-creating the clandestine lives and heroic exploits of Resistance fighters.

Lyon was facinating, but well worth a side trip too is the Pleateau des Glieres near to Annecy and the musium of the Morett in Thones. In July each year on the plateau there is a (son et lumiere)sound and vision of this reacent history finishing with an amazing firworks disply (weather permiting) as the plateau is 1300mts high.If you are a hiker you can visit any time of year, whatever the season and just imagin yourself back 60 years in time!!
