Originally a center for the money-changing activities that took place here in the late 15th and 16th centuries, the building was constructed by Simon Gourdet in the mid-16th century and completely redesigned in 1747 by Jean-Baptiste Roche, using plans supplied by his famous colleague Jacques-Germain Soufflot, the architect of Paris's Panthéon. After serving as an inn during the French Revolution, the Loge became a Protestant church in 1803, and is now one of Vieux Lyon's prime concert venues.
