L'Auberge Napoléon

Fodor's Review:

Frédéric Caby's culinary haven in a meticulously restored town house (once inhabited by Napoléon Bonaparte himself) is where chef Agnès Chotin, one of France's top cuisinières (lady chefs) puts together the best table in Grenoble. Specializing in terroir (that is, unique to the region) creations ranging from daube de sanglier en aumonière croustillante (wild boar stewed in port wine with lemon crust) to crème de potiron (cream of squash soup), Mlle. Chotin proposes a foie-gras menu that is nearly as wicked and wonderful as her regional cru chocolate dessert offering.
