By Bus in Ile de France

Although many of the major sights in this chapter have train lines connecting them on direct routes with Paris, the lesser towns and destinations pose more of a problem. You often need to take a local bus or taxi after arriving at a train station (for instance, to get to Senlis from Chantilly Gare SNCF, or Fontainebleau and Barbizon from Avon Gare SNCF, or Vaux-le-Vicomte from Melun Gare SNCF, or Giverny from Vernon Gare SNCF). Other buses travel outward from Paris's suburbs—the No. 158A bus, for instance, which goes from La Défense to St-Germain-en-Laye and Rueil-Malmaison.
