Fodor's France 2014
Frédéric Cassel Review
A must-visit for pastry and chocolate lovers alike, this master pâtissier excels in classic French confections without too many bells and whistles. Light-as-air and made with the best ingredients, Cassel's creations are as beautiful as they are scrumptious. The sinful millefeuille comes in five flavors, including sweet chestnut and Earl Gray tea, and the Tarte Duo de Cerise mixes tart and sweet cherries with almond cream. Chocolates are freshly made on the premises. For lunch, the tea salon is a good alternative to a full restaurant meal, with a small, inventive menu: creamy pumpkin velouté, guacamole with curried shrimp, or a more ample dish of tender dorade (sea bream) with potatoes and black olives. A two-course lunch menu with coffee is a good deal at €15. Great for teatime.
