This old stone house with a garden, a five-minute walk from the cathedral and close to the bus station, is the closest you can get to spending a night in the historic center of Senlis. The prettiest room is No. 14, which overlooks the garden and has sloping walls and exposed beams. Chef-owner Philippe Patenotte presides over the venerable, recently renovated restaurant (no dinner Sunday), which has light oak tables and wrought-iron chairs, and fish and game-heavy set menus at EUR 21 and EUR 27. Pros: only hotel close to historic town center; attractive old building. Cons: modest facilities; some rooms need renovating.
