The riverside Cabouillet aptly reflects the quiet charm of L'Isle-Adam, thanks to the pretty views over the Oise River that you can savor from each of its cozy, well-appointed rooms (No. 1 is the largest and brightest) or from the chic restaurant, where the cooking can be inspired—try the sea bass with cockles and fennel, or the chicken with morels and asparagus (restaurant closed Monday, no dinner Sunday).

we stayed on a wednesday, so missed the restaurant. but it was the cleanest quaintest hotel on our trip. less than an hour from Paris, right on the oise river. very interesting little town too. well worth the stay, if a little pricey.
