La Corniche Review

Nestled in the oak and chestnut trees of a tranquil hamlet about 15 minutes from Bastia, La Corniche's location and unpretentious ambience are what set it apart. The hotel-restaurant of the fourth-generation Anziani family offers a memorable stay year-round with shaded terraces, panoramic sea views, rooms decorated in Provençale colors, and friendly service befitting a perfectly positioned hôtel de charme. Creative Corsican cuisine prepared by one of the sons adapts each season to take advantage of the best local produce. Whereas breakfast is a delightful canvas of fresh pastries, fig jam, yogurts, and cheeses, dinner tempts with a sumptuous fixed-price menu and a list of over 300 wines. In winter, relax by the wood-burning fireplace and savor cabri aux herbes du maquis (roast goat in maquis herbs)—a standard and popular favorite. Request a brightly decorated "confort" room" that has undergone recent renovations. During off-season, ask for special rates, which drop prices nearly 30%.
