Kissing Pigs

Kissing Pigs Review

For traditional Corsican meat, cheese and wine, head to this cozy charcuterie and grill where aged salamis hang from the rafters. Adding rustic authenticity are stone-walls, terra cotta tile flooring and illuminated inlets holding books, bottles and baskets. Start with the selection of farmers' cheese served with chestnut bread, fig jam, dried fruit and purple grapes. The summer menu features gourmet salads like La Basse Cour (duck, bacon, and apples on a bed of greens) and open-faced sandwiches like the Pertusato tartine (foie gras with muscat-marinated macerated figs). Organic pork is the specialty here since it comes directly from the owner's pig farm. Save room for the homemade ice cream that comes in flavors of fig, myrte, and chestnut. Right near the busy marina, the local eatery has not changed its winning formula since opening in 2008 and remains a popular tourist magnet for lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch.
